This time, we allowed all the 1,621,814 people living in New York City to be jurors by picking up various signals they created, including reviews, online & offline sentiment metrics, citations, Google search result rankings, links between websites, brand mentions, social media activity, and more.

Essentially, this competition focuses on the passion for styling hair and the skills to make people look and feel good. We discovered and reviewed all 189 stylists & hair salons in New York City, then shortlisted 79 (full-service salons, boutique salons, children's salons, mobile hair salons, ethnic hair studios, etc.). Finally, we ranked them based on their technical skills & expertise, professionalism & attitude, value for money, feedback from clients, and reputation.
