This time, we allowed all the 142,383 people living in San Mateo to be jurors by picking up various signals they created, including reviews, online & offline sentiment metrics, citations, Google search result rankings, links between websites, brand mentions, social media activity, and more.

Essentially, this competition focuses on the love of food, combined with the passion for cooking and sharing culinary creations with others. We discovered and reviewed all 94 food places in San Mateo, then shortlisted 16 (restaurants, diners, cafeterias, drive-thrus, food trucks, fast foods, etc.). Finally, we ranked them based on their food quality, service, atmosphere, value for money, customer feedback, and overall impression.
